T his is a popular trend on Youtube that makes zero sense.  I believe they are called “Reaction” videos.  This is how it goes down: People record themselves while watching another form of media on a computer, TV, tablet, etc.  For example, on this Youtube video for the Netflix show Stranger Things 2 you’ll see a bunch of people watching the trailer for the upcoming new season.  You, as the viewer, will get to see their reactions throughout the entire clip.  Really???  This video has over 163,000 views.  163,000!!!  The same amount of people it would take to fill up Yankee Stadium 3 times, thought it would be entertaining to watch the reaction of another ADULT.

However, not all “Reaction” videos are worthless.  There are 2 types of “Reactions” that are entertaining to watch, which is for children under 5 years old and ANIMALS.  For example, I could watch this dog all day on a 24 hour loop.  Well, what’s the difference?  The difference is animals and children under 5 can’t even comprehend that their being recorded.  Which means their reaction is 100% candid.  There’s no acting taking place or hopes of getting a ton of “views” on Youtube to become an overnight internet sensation.

I think the only way to prove my point is to make a “Reaction of Reaction” video.  Then if that doesn’t work, maybe go one step further with a “Reaction of Reaction of Reaction” video.  I’ll keep making them until people realize how stupid this stuff really is.
